Comments: Known in some river systems in Hainan Prov. and Xijiang R. system from Tengxian County, Guangxi to Luopingxian County, Yunnan Prov. (Ref. 45563). Known from Hainan Dao Qionghai. Guangxi (Duan, Qingzhou)(Ref.33784). Also found in Beijiang River (Ref. 89718). Also Ref. 26563, 33784.

Head small, pointed and slender; snout short and protruded; mouth slit slanted; large eyes at the center of head, towards tip, interorbital space convex. Long, rhombic body; back behind head convex. Belly scutes from base of pelvic fin to anus. Body gray on back, silvery white on lower sides and belly, a horizontal gray stripe along the central axis; gray on caudal fin and semi-transparent on others (Ref. 45563).

Adults inhabit clear still or slow-moving waters of small rivers (Ref. 45563).
