Espinhos dorsais (total): 3; Raios dorsais moles (total): 7; Espinhos anais 2; Raios anais moles: 5; Vértebras: 37 - 38. Body elongated, cylindrical, snout bluntly pointed, peduncle of caudal compressed; snout subequal to postorbital part of head; barbels 6. Scales minute, invisible, only present on peduncle of caudal. Air bladder entirely enclosed in bony capsule. Without a free portion in abdominal cavity.
