Dorsale stekels (totaal): 0; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal): 18-20; Anale stekels 0; Anale zachte stralen: 16 - 20. Body with wrinkled gelatinous skin covering. Small photopores on body. Closely resembles R. watasei but differs in having a gently curved and long snout. Body color dusky-purple.
