Comments: Type locality of Herzensteinia microcephalus, Dy tschu, Upper part of Yangtze R., elev. 12700 ft. Nu River and inland drainage of northern Xizang in Tibet (Ref. 32617). Also occurs in Nujiang [Salween] river (Ref. 41093) and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Ref. 108769).
