Comments: Present in the Dja (Sangha River tributary, middle Congo River basin) (Ref. 51193, 83752). Report of C. tamandua from the Sanaga in Pappenheim (1907) based on an emaciated rhynchophorus with the snout much longer than in any tamandua according to Ref. 42510, but rhynchophorus considered endemic to the Congo basin in several sources (eg. Ref. 83752).
