Comments: Type localities: Sydney, BMNH 1855.9.19.1184 (holotype of Lotella fulginosa); 'Victoria, South Australia, BMNH 1868.1.15.37 (skin; holotype of Lotella calarias); Port Jackson, NSW, AM I.16273-001 (syntypes of L. marginata); Tasmania, whereabouts of type unknown of Lotella swanii. Known off Julian Rocks, NSW to Long Island, WA and coastal Tasmania (based on AM and WAM specimens, published records and previous literature) (Ref. 75154). Reported off Minnie Waters, NSW (Ref. 7300) and Lord Howe Island (Ref. 75154). Also Ref. 9002.
