背棘 (總數): 0; 背的軟條 (總數): 12-13; 臀棘 0; 臀鰭軟條: 8 - 9; 脊椎骨: 32 - 33. Distinguished from all other Characidium species by the presence of black marks along the sides of the body, superimposed on the vertical bars, which occur in most species of the genus; most of the marks are vertically oriented elliptical, except anteriormost 1-2 marks, which may be roundish or horizontally elongated (Ref. 46824).
