背面の脊椎 (合計): 3; 背鰭 (合計): 8; 肛門の骨 3; 臀鰭: 8; 脊つい: 37 - 40. Nuptial color of males greenish with a dark green stripe from upper rear edge of gill opening to middle of caudal fin base, anal fin with red band submarginally and dark ventral fin without marginal white band (Ref. 42959).
Found in rocky bottom of fast-flowing streams (Ref. 42957). Feeds on algae (Ref. 42957).
