背面の脊椎 (合計): 7; 背鰭 (合計): 10-12; 肛門の骨 1; 臀鰭: 11 - 12. Predorsal midline almost always with naked patches, four to 18 scales; pectoral base almost always naked; opercle almost always naked, breast naked, third and fourth spines of 1st dorsal fin may be slightly filamentous on males, body anteriorly, head and pectoral fins dusky in both sexes.
Recorded from freshwater streams.
