পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 13; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 8 - 9. Body and fins red with black blotch on membrane between first 4 spines of dorsal fin. Blackish spot or saddle on caudal peduncle (Ref. 7251). Pectoral axil pale (Ref. 37108).

Probably more common on shelf-edge reefs (Ref. 51183).
