Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

Spine dorsali (totale): 2; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 7; Raggi anali molli: 10; Vertebre: 43. Distinguished from all other Mystus (indeed, from all other Asian Bagridae except Bagrichthys hypselopterus) by its extraordinary high dorsal fin, involving great elongation of the non-serrate dorsal fin spine and first three or four soft rays. Within Mystus sensu stricto, mouth relatively narrow (Ref. 10418).

Biologia     Glossario (es. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Occur in medium to large-sized rivers (Ref. 12975). Adults feed on crustaceans and benthic invertebrates. Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205). Usually marketed fresh (Ref. 12693).

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00832 (0.00384 - 0.01800), b=2.95 (2.77 - 3.13), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.5   ±0.44 se; based on food items.
Resilienza (Ref. 120179):  Medio, tempo minimo di raddoppiamento della popolazione 1.4 - 4.4 anni (Assuming Fec < 10,000).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (19 of 100).
