Comments: Spawning occurs in upper reaches of the rivers, mainly in vicinity of the Arctic Circle. Water depth of 1.2-2.3 m, current speed of 0.9-2.7 m/s and bottom comprised of differentially sized gravel (10-100 mm) are common to all spawning grounds. Inconnu often spawns when rivers are freezing. Spawning probably occurs once every 2, 3, or 4 years (Ref. 1998).
