Comments: Spawning occurs in the winter and spring, from November to April, and still later north of British Colombia, with the height of the spawning season apparently corresponding with water temperatures near 11°C (Ref. 1098, 6885). A medium-sized female (56.5 cm SL) contained an estimated 11 million eggs (Ref. 27547).
