Comments: Ripe individuals are found throughout the year indicating that continous breeding occurs, but there is considerable seasonal variation in the proportion of adult fish with ripe gonads (Ref. 52142). The breeding peak between November and December coincided with the rainy season and with the zooplankton production peak (Ref. 52142). Sex ratio may be different from 1:1 due to fishing pressure (faster growth rate of females) and growth pattern (larger size of females) (Ref. 52142).
