Comments: Southern bluefin tuna in spawning condition are found only in the Indian Ocean (Ref. 6390). The highest larval catches are made from January to February (Ref. 30319). In the area south of the spawning grounds, large southern bluefin tuna with ripening or spent gonads accumulate from September to March (Ref. 6390). After spawning, southern bluefin tuna migrate southwards (Ref. 6390). Also Ref. 127823.
