Etymology of specific epithet |
Name is in reference to the Botocudo, the generic name given to native indigenous people wearing artifacts ('botoques') on ears and lips. Those Indians were the original inhabitants of large extensions of the Floresta Atlântica (Paraíso, 1992), including the lands along the rio Mucuri valley and far west, to the rio Doce, range of the new Glanidium species. A noun in apposition. |
