Comments: | Established in Guapo, Point Fortin and Maraval and Diego Martin drainages. In Diego Martin drainage, it is common both in brackish and freshwater. Fish well acclimatized to brackish water have less colorful dorsal fins, but tend to have an overall bluish cast. Those in freshwater seem to have faded color and presumably originated from the Central America. The central drains of Diego Martin and Maraval rivers are dominated by this species, often in pure culture. Ref: |
