Family:  Poecilopsettidae (Bigeye flounders)
Max. size:  19 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 60 - 400 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan, Taiwan, and China near Hainan. Reported from the Philippines (Ref. 11148) and South Korea (Ref. 77001).
Diagnosis:  Upper-jaw length 3.4 to 3.9 times in head length (Ref 12933).
Biology:  Found on sand-mud bottoms. Very rare. Feeds on small benthic animals (Ref. 9792).

Country info:  Ranges from Jiangsu Province to Hainan Province (Ref. 33837). Known from the Yellow Sea in the east of Sulvlue Island of Jiangsu Province; and East China Sea in east of Ningpo of Zhejiang Province; also from South China Sea in southeast Yulingang of east of Hainan Province (depth - 40-200 meters)(Ref.33837).
