Max. size:  16.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Malaysia and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 39-42
Biology:  Found in large rivers and feeds on small fishes (Ref. 56749). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 September 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Outside distributional range; likely a misidentification of L. longibarbis. Reported from the Mekong (Ref. 4792). Collected from Pak Suong, Luang Prabang, Tha Ngon, Tha Bo, Sai Fong, Sithan Tay and Hatsalao of the Mekong basin (Ref. 4792). Also found in Ban Hang Khone, a village on an island in the middle of the mainstream Mekong River just below the Great Khone Waterfalls in Khong District, Champasak Province (Ref. 37767).
