Distribution:  South America: Upper Río Amazonas, Peru.
Diagnosis:  Teeth in the outer premaxillary row 3-4; pored lateral line 9-10; scales between the lateral line and the dorsal-fin origin 3-4; scales between the lateral line and the anal fin origin 3 (Ref. 93393).
Biology:

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found in the upper Amazon River basin (Ref. 38376). Occurs in tributaries around Iquitos and in Nanay River. Exported as an aquarium fish (Ref. 9235). Also Ref. 598.
