Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Diaphinae
Max. size:  7.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range 387 - 1537 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: widely distributed in the region. South China Sea and East China Sea (Ref.74511).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lipid content is 7.9 % in fresh body weight and wax ester is 3.7 % in total lipids (Ref. 9193).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 26 June 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the East China Sea and South China Sea (Ref. 44036). Known from South China Sea in N12°13', E117°08', depth 3240 meters; and East China Sea in N28°47'- 31°34', E127°05'- 129°06', depth 520-810 meters(Ref.44036).
