Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  8.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Occurs near Kande Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found among the sediment covered rocks. Feeds on soft-bodied invertebrates (Ref. 5595).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU) (D2) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Kande Island. Exported as an aquarium fish (Ref. 5595).
