Country info:  Known from Moloka'i to Midway and Hancock Seamounts at 2-507 m; above 48 m being of juveniles (Ref. 58302). Museum: Oahu, Honolulu, 200 yards (183 m) W of Diamond Head lighthouse, edge of cut in reef, poison stn., USNM 162512 (holotype, 237 mm TL). Also Ref. 40789.
