Distribution:  North America: springs along Tennessee River in Alabama, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in large vegetated springs (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on amphipods, physid snails, and midge larvae (Ref. 10294).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Occurs only in springs along Tennessee River in Alabama. Formerly found in southern central Tennessee; common in a few springs (Ref. 5723). Also Ref. 10294. Status of threat: threatened; status same as 1989. Criteria: 1,5 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
