Known only from the Apolyont Lake (Ref. 58342). Also Ref. 106151. Relatively abundant in Lake Apolyont, but its population is threatened because of pollution from industrial effluents and domestic waste water from the town of Bursa (Ref. 12259). Threats include bycatch in fisheries, commercial exploiation and eutrophication (Ref. 58342), Also Ref. 12255, 26334.
