Max. size:  26 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 76-88. Maxillary barbel extends beyond last quarter of anal fin (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Found in river and streams. Feeds mostly on small fishes, along with prawns and insect larvae. Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693); processed as smoked or salted fish (Ref. 56749).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 May 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the Mekong, Chao Phraya and Maeklong basins. Also recorded from Bang Pakong river (Chachoengsao) (Ref. 37773). Threatened due to habitat loss (Ref. 58784). Also Ref. 2091, 43281. Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 58784).
