Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 40 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Senegal to Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Common off Ghana where it is generally found among rocks.

Country info:  Recorded from São Tomé Island based on (1) collection and photograph by DOP in Lagoa Azul in 3 m on a reef (DOP-ICT 1035-2000, 1: 146 mm SL), (2) underwater photo by DOP, (3) observation by Peter Wirtz in 15 m, on rocky wall near Santana islet, and (4) specimen caught by local fishers and identified by Jean Worms (Ref. 34088).
