Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 105 - 385 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Vanuatu and the Solomon Is.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 162-173. This species is distinguished by the following characters: supraorbital pores 4; head 5.5-6.7 in TL; preanal vertebrae 49-58; total vertebrae 162-173; preanal LL pores 48-54; total LL pores 159-169; 2 rows of teeth on most of both jaws (ref. 106113).

Country info:  Type locality of Arisoma brachyrhynchus, southern Mindanao, Eastern Illana Bay, Utara Point, Bongo Island (Ref. 106113). Collected during the Hearst Expedition 2011 done off Batangas and Mindoro, off SW Luzon (Ref. 95664).
