Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: southeast India and Sri Lanka to southern China (Kwang-tung).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-28; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 6-7
Biology:  Inhabits shallow coastal waters (Ref. 9772). Feeds on small crustaceans. Marketed fresh as well as dried salted (Ref. 3490).
