Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  3.87 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 35 - 50 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Raja Ampat Islands, Irian Jaya, Indonesia. Also Cenderawasih Bay (Ref. 90102).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8; Vertebrae: 24-24. Predorsal scales 3-4; preopercular margin minutely serrate; preopercular ridge smooth; body depth 2.7-2.8 in SL; color semi-translucent whitish with tapering black mid-lateral stripe (Ref. 44115). Greatest depth of body 2.7-2.8 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found very close to bottom (Ref. 44115). Solitary or in small groups (Ref 90102).
