Max. size:  26 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Anal soft rays: 76-88. Maxillary barbel extends beyond last quarter of anal fin (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Found in river and streams. Feeds mostly on small fishes, along with prawns and insect larvae. Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693); processed as smoked or salted fish (Ref. 56749).

Country info:  Collected from Sumatra: Musi River, Siak Kechil, Indragiri River at Taluk, and Jambi, Batang Hari; also in Kalimantan Barat, Sintang market (Ref. 42937). Found in the Kapuas Lakes area in Kalimantan Barat, Borneo (Ref. 56749). Recorded from Danau Sentarum National Park in the Kapuas basin, Kalimantan Barat (Ref. 56749). Also Ref. 43281.
