Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India and Bangladesh (Ref. 42980). Known from the Ganges basin (Ref. 35912).
Diagnosis:  Transverse scale rows 7-8/1/3-4; upper and lower caudal fin lobes with submarginal black stripes (Ref. 35912). Lateral line scales 41-42; predorsal scales 14-15; body depth 29.5-32.9% of SL; and dorsal fin height 28.9-31.4% SL (Ref. 42980).
Biology:  Inhabits streams and rivers at foot hills (Ref. 41236).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the North Bengal, below the Himalayan foothills and east Himalaya drainages (Ref. 45255). Found in Sikkim and Naga Hills (Ref. 41236), Assam and Manipur in Brahmaputra basin (Ref. 42980). Also Ref. 4832.
