Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Western Ghats, Kerala and Maharashtra in India.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in freshwater and tidal rivers (Ref. 41236). Feed on the surface and water column; mainly on surface dwelling insects (Ref. 43629). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).

Country info:  Known from Peninsular India (Ref. 4833). Found in Western Ghats, Kerala and Maharashtra (Ref. 43638). Reported from Karnataka (Ref. 45255). Recorded from Krishna, Godavari and Jamuna rivers (Ref. 43629). Also Ref. 41236, 58032. Status of threat: Critically endangered (Ref. 50614).
