Max. size:  15.64 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 8
Distribution:  Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults live in hill streams with gravelly and rocky bottom (Ref. 41236).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found along the base of Himalayas and Assam (Ref. 41236). Known from rivers of Indus, Ganga and Brahmaputra (Ref. 45255). Present in Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal lakes (Ref. 89721). Also Ref. 4832, 89472. Status of threat: Vulnerable in Western Ghats (Ref. 50614).
