Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. This species is distinguished by the following characters: diagonally slanting grey and yellow bars on body; nape scaled with about 5-6 predorsal scales; pectoral fin with 16-17 unbranched rays; unbranched fifth pelvic-fin ray, about half length of fourth ray; interorbital region with a U-shaped trench and no postorbital trenches (Ref. 112075). |
Its cryptic habits and small size make it difficult to observe and collect this species (Ref. 112075). |
