Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 7; dH range: 7 - 9, non-migratory
Distribution:  Central America: coastal river basins of Cuba.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in upland streams (Ref. 4537). Abundant in rivers and lakes with clear and abundant vegetation (Ref. 13498). Not a seasonal killifish. Is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139).

Country info:  Known from eastern and western Cuba including Isla de la Juventud (Ref. 27158). Found in upland streams (Ref. 4537). Abundant in rivers and lakes with clear water and abundant vegetation throughout western Cuba (Ref. 13498). Also Ref. 27139.
