Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Costa Rica.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 79-81; Anal soft rays: 56-58; Vertebrae: 39-40. Diagnosis: Pointed snout; distinct large eyes, 2.2-2.5% SL; head with scale-band on cheek; posterior infraorbital pores 3; posterior nostril large, about half of eye diameter; rays in dorsal fin 79-81, anal 56-58, caudal 16; otolith with length to height ratio 2.5 and partly fused colliculi.
Biology:  Depth and method of collection unknown (Ref. 55786).
