Distribution:  Africa: upper Congo River basin in Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia (Ref. 58032, 86935), including Rusizi River (Ref. 87863), Lukuga River (Ref. 36901), Lake Tanganyika tributaries (Ref. 36901), upper Lualaba River (Ref. 2970), Lake Mweru (Ref. 246) and lower Luapula River (Ref. 45616).

Known from Luapula River drainage (Ref. 42540, 45616, 86935), upper Lualaba River (Ref. 2970), Lukuga River (Ref. 36901), Koki River (Ref. 36901) and Luvubu River, a Rusizi River tributary (Ref. 87863). Also Ref. 58032.
