Max. size:  39.4 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 236.9 g; max. reported age: 5 years
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 70 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Korea and southern Japan to the Yellow Sea and South China Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in the sublittoral zone (incl. semi-enclosed sea areas) on sandy mud bottoms (Ref. 11230).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 10 September 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Reported from China's coast (Ref. 47843), from Guangdong mouth of Zhujiangjiang River (=Pearl River) to the Yellow Sea and Po Hai (Ref.33837). Known from Beidaihe of Hebei Province; Qingdao of Shandong Province; Xiamen of Fujian Province; and also from Tangjiawan, Nanao, Shantou in Guangdong Province (Ref.33837). Also Ref. 117610.
