Family:  Gaidropsaridae (Rocklings)
Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Arctic to North Atlantic: Baffin Bay, Greenland, and from deep waters off the east coast of North America from near Browns Bank (Canada) to off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina (USA).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0
Biology:  Epibenthic; feeds on crustaceans (Ref. 58426).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Ranges from Nunavut to Québec (Ref. 58426) and Newfoundland and Labrador (Ref. 40643). Specimen caught at 41°53'N, 65°35'W in 858 fathoms on edge of continental shelf off Browns Bank (Ref. 4926).
