Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 110 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: taken off southern Madagascar and also reported from India, Viet Nam and Japan. Also found in Indonesia, the Arafura Sea (Ref. 9819) and northwestern Australia (Ref. 5978).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 33-34; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 24-25
Biology:  Rather rare.

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Museum: WAM P.26194-010. From North West Cape to Darwin, though the lateral line count (59-63) of this material is consistenly below that stated for the species (70-72).
