Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 304 - 458 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: endemic to northwestern Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occur over soft bottoms of the continental shelf (Ref. 7300, 75154). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Males reaches maturity at 29-32 cm TL, hatch size at ca. 11 cm TL. Biology unknown. Caught as bycatch and discarded (Ref. 114953).

Country info:  Type locality, near Rowley Shoals, Western Australia, WAM P 19118-001 (holotype of Pavoraja alleni, 29.7 cm TL, adult male). Known from the upper continental slope off Western Australia, between NE of the Monte Bello Islands (19°21' S, 115°42' E) and the Bonaparte Archipelago (14°11' S, 122°35' E), of 304-458 m (Ref. 76878).
