Max. size:  32.1 cm TL (male/unsexed); 36.7 cm TL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; depth range 110 - 370 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: off eastern Australia
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs mainly on the outer continental shelf and upper slope, recorded up to 500 m. Diet mainly based on crustaceans; juveniles feed on amphipods and carid shrimps while adults feed on prawns and bony fishes (Ref. 114953). Lengths of adolescent males unknown, but largest juvenile male was 23.4 cm TL, adult males 31.5-32.1 cm TL, with smallest juvenile 17.0 cm TL (Ref. 75648). Females mature at ca. 31 cm TL; young hatch at 10-11 cm TL (Ref. 114953).

Country info:  Type locality, south-east of North Stradbroke Island, Queensland, CSIRO H 6630-01 (holotype of Dipturus endeavouri, 31.8 cm TL, adult male). An eastern Australian endemic, occurring from Fraser Island, Queensland (25°27′ S, 153°46′ E), southward to at least Yamba, New South Wales (29°21′ S, 153°47′ E); and possible records from Coffs Harbour and south to Newcastle (Ref. 75648).
