Max. size:  17 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in the Branco, lower Negro, and along the Solimões-Amazon rivers in Brazil between the Tocantins and the lower Trombetas rivers.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  In quiet sections of the river, over sandy bottom. Maximum length 25 cm TL (Ref. 2060).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from the Upper Orinoco (Ref. 122551). Occurrence in the country is not confirmed (Ref. 36377).
