Family:  Priacanthidae (Bigeyes or catalufas)
Max. size:  33 cm NG (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 40 - 240 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: endemic to Easter Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  All specimens collected along rocky drop-offs or taken by hook and line at undetermined depths over bottoms of about 240 m.
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found between 40 and 240 m (Ref. 89467). Museum: off Hanga Roa, BPBM 30544 (Holotype). Also Ref. 5403, 31035.
