Family:  Bagridae (Bagrid catfishes)
Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh (Ref. 4833). Reported from Afghanistan (Ref. 41034).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit rivers and ponds in plains and submontane regions (Ref. 41236) in flowing and standing waters (Ref. 4833). Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 05 October 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Indus plain and adjoining hilly areas (Ref. 4833). Recorded from North West Frontier Province, Punjab and Sindh (Ref. 52665). Also Ref. 4833, 41236.
