Biology:  Occurs in streams in mountainous, rainforest terrain at elevations between 200 and 400 m.

Country info:  Known only from two tributary streams of the Yakati River in the middle of the narrow isthmus that connects the Vogelkop Peninsula with the remainder of the New Guinea (Ref. 2847). Also Ref. 6376, 103156.
