Family:  Sisoridae (Sisorid catfishes), subfamily: Glyptosterninae
Max. size:  24 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7; dH range: 20
Distribution:  Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Tibet. Also former USSR (Ref. 11145).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in rivers and streams under stones and rocks. Feeds mainly on invertebrates , specially insect larvae (Ref. 6868).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 March 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Occurs in the Northern areas (Ref. 40981); North West Frontier Province of the upper parts of Indus, Chitral, Swat, Kunhar, Gilgit rivers (Ref. 4833, 52665); Azad Kashmir (Ref. 51161). Common in Northern Areas and rare in North West Frontier Province (Ref. 57738). Also Ref. 40981, 41236.
