Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific: eastern Australia, including Tasmania; also in New Zealand (Ref. 5755).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in shallow sandy estuaries, often in seagrass beds (Ref. 9002).

Country info:  Known from SA (Bass Strait, Great Australian Bight, S Gulfs coast), TAS (Bass Strait, Tas. Coast), VIC (Bass Strait), WA (Central W coast, Great Australian Bight, Lower W coast, SW coast); Wilsons Promontory, VIC (146°22'E) to Denham, WA and throughout TAS (Ref. 75154). Ranges from central Queensland to Shark Bay, including Tasmania.
