Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: lower (Ref. 42510), middle and upper Congo River basin, from southern Cameroon up to Lake Mweru (Ref. 78218) in Zambia and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also in the Kasai drainage in Angola (Ref. 11970).
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 40-42
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205).

Country info:  Present in the lower (Ref. 42510), middle and upper Congo River basin (Ref. 78218). Reported from the lower Congo rapids (Ref. 42510), Ubangi (Ref. 2988, 45441), Uele (Ref. 41594), Itimbiri (Ref. 42503), Ituri (Ref. 42480, 106290), Lindi (Ref. 2988, 42183, 106290), Stanleyville (=Kisangani) (Ref. 41594, 46861), Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245), Lualaba (Ref. 106245), Luapula (Ref. 41590) and Lufira (upper Lualaba) (Ref. 2266, 2970). Also Ref. 3202. Note that coordinates of 'Kabunda' in Ref. 41590 are incorrect and should probably be about 01°15'S-29°30'E (in Luapula drainage; see also Ref. 2970) (T. Musschoot, pers. comm.).
